Our Vision: A Home for Faith, A Hub for Hope, A Sanctuary for Souls

The Franciscans of the Immaculate Queen of all Souls (FIQS) are embarking on a profound mission: to build a new monastery in Owerri, Nigeria. This isn't just about bricks and mortar; it's about cultivating a spiritual haven, serving the local community, fostering sustainable practices, and dedicatedly interceding for the faithful departed and the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

At the heart of our mission is a special charism: to offer constant prayers, Masses, and sacrifices for the repose of the souls in Purgatory and for all the faithful departed. This monastery will be a perpetual spiritual powerhouse, remembering those who await the fullness of God's presence.

What We're Building

A Convent for 25 Franciscan Monks

Providing a serene home for contemplation, prayer, and community life, featuring private cells, a refectory, kitchen, library, infirmary, offices, and a small internal chapel. Our daily life will be deeply rooted in prayer for the living and the dead.

A Church Open to All

A welcoming church space with a capacity for 400 faithful, complete with a sacristy, office, and areas for catechesis and community activities, serving as a spiritual anchor for the local population. Here, Masses will be offered regularly for the Holy Souls.

A Guesthouse for at least 50 Persons

Offering comfortable rooms, common areas, a chapel for personal prayer, and independent kitchen facilities to welcome pilgrims, volunteers, and visitors. Guests will be invited to join us in our prayers for the departed.

Sustainable Vegetable Gardens & Agricultural Spaces

Promoting self-sufficiency and environmental stewardship through organic vegetable gardens, an orchard, spaces for small livestock, a composter, rainwater collection systems, and a laboratory for agricultural training for the local community.
